On 10th April, Grades III-VII teachers went through a workshop on Project Based Learning conducted by the Vice Principal, Ms. Trisha Chakraborty. The session gave an insight into how to focus on teaching through the learning wheel of “Project-based learning”.

The session’s main highlight was how to engage students in the investigation process within this framework by framing the right kind of inquiry questions to pursue solutions to non-trivial problems.

Learning is a Lifelong Process- A Teacher Remains a Learner!!

IEYC was launched in 2016 and it is being implemented in over 60 countries worldwide. This (IEYC) curriculum is research-based, flexible and works alongside our national curriculum, providing holistic development that includes personal, social, and emotional development of the child.

IEYC is designed around eight learning principles that are essential for the learning and development of the child. It focuses on developing individual ideas and interests, unlocking potential, and capturing the curiosity of the child by providing a unique environment – ‘Learning Spaces’.

Children are encouraged to voice out their ideas and engage in a variety of activities throughout the process of learning in each Unit of Learning. There is no formal assessment. It is an ongoing learning cycle, based on day-to-day observations that are recorded in a journal. Regular interactions happen between teachers, children and parents to achieve a holistic view of the child’s development.

We are committed to imparting quality education and improvising learning methodology for young learners. Hence, we decided to implement IEYC this academic year. In order to implement IEYC in the classroom and to achieve the desired results, all the teachers are undergoing intense training.

The training started on 7th April and will continue until 27th April.
