Indoor Games and Activities
Indoor games form a part of the school sports program. Students can choose one indoor game based on their interest and inclination. Listed below are the choices available
- Kuchipudi Dance
- Fine Arts
At Suchitra Academy, games and sports are an integral part of the curriculum. Children are encouraged to take part in an array of sports that are offered by the school during the week. What’s more, children showing exceptional talent in badminton are assisted by world-class coaches to build a rewarding career in sports. The sporting facilities are as follows:
- Volley Ball
- Table Tennis
Our physical environment has a profound effect on the way our mind functions. And, keeping this in mind Suchitra Academy has built large, spacious classrooms (almost 600 sq. ft), airy, brightly lit and pleasant. With plenty of circulation space, the classrooms can accommodate up to 30 students and are equipped with airconditioners for the days when the Mercury rises. The ergonomically designed furniture ensures comfort and alertness among students. There are cubby-holes for students to keep their books, sports gear, etc. The classrooms have walls lined with soft boards for display to create a print-rich informative environment. Furthermore, they have interactive boards with computers connected to high-speed internet, along with projector screens. All of which makes for an interesting and visually rich learning experience.
The large amphitheatre seats up to 1700 guests and is equipped with a large stage. It has provisions for props and green rooms for any theatrical production that the school organizes. It is extensively used for assemblies and presentations during school hours too.
The multi-purpose hall seats up to 700 people and is mostly used for morning assembly, seminars, workshops, presentations, parent orientations, meetings, and any other gatherings. With good acoustics and projection facility, it is ideal for audiovisual presentations and theme-end presentations.
The reading center has a bibliography of almost 7,000 books covering an array of subjects from fiction to biographies to encyclopedias to science and craft books. The inviting interiors, the informal and formal seating areas created for children to relax and read at leisure, create just the right ambiance to immerse oneself in the world of books. Our experienced Librarian conducts and leads regular reading programs. Storytelling forms an integral part of the library experience, especially for Pre-Primary and Early Primary classes.
Equipped with sleek desktop computers with ergonomically designed tables and seating, every child gets to work independently at the ICT Centre. Internet connectivity enables access to relevant material for classroom assignments and any subjects he or she may be working on. The ICT mentor also provides support in the webbing of the subjects. Firewalls in place keep the children working only on the websites suitable for them.
Physics, Chemistry and Biology Laboratories
The three independent laboratories with ultramodern facilities make Scientific learning possible in its true sense. Learners not only get hands-on exposure but also enjoy in participating actively in the learning process which develops their ‘Scientific inquisitiveness’.
Arts and Crafts Rooms
The Arts and Crafts rooms are spacious expanses with granite worktops… inviting and inspiring to begin with. Here, children work with various mediums including real clay and metal junk! A kiln to bake the clay masterpieces is next in line!! Again, collage work fires the imagination as waste turns into beautiful pieces of art!!! The Fine Art curriculum is designed to give students not just drawing, painting, and coloring skills, but also an eye for Art Appreciation. Developing an Aesthetic sense in the children is done through various exercises and also through maintaining beautiful environs all around. The great artists from the past and present come alive in the classroom during presentations of their famous works by highly talented and dedicated Mentors.
Music is a way to create a beauty of rhythm, melody, harmony, and form and can be an outlet for an intense expression of emotions. What may not be achieved through just words can sometimes be easily brought to life through music. The Suchitra Academy choir group masters songs in various languages bringing in harmony (and rap too at times!). The school song with the school motto ‘Scientia Potentia est’ echoes within the walls while it gets ‘fine-tuned’. Songs are concurrent with the themes running in Pre-primary to Grade II in line with our promise of making learning multi-sensorial and interdisciplinary. The Suchitra school song and the Sports Anthem, written and composed by the Music Mentors reflect the sense of pride and belonging present in the students and mentors alike.
Karate is an integral part of the school program. It not just equips students in the art of self-defense but also helps enhance concentration and focus. At the end of the year, children are also given a chance to opt for the Karate Belt Test if they wish to pursue it with earnestness.
The Playpen is where the toddlers have their share of playtime. It’s an interesting place dotted with options like the multi-activity gym, seesaw, and jungle gym, all of which attracts toddlers. What’s more, the soft sand is an added attraction for tiny tots, looking for shells and snails! Basking under the shade of huge trees, kids enjoy their time here. Free play is given importance as it builds independence, self-control, and respect for others
We provide healthy and nutritious food on the campus in consultation with an experienced Nutritionist. It’s a wholesome meal and children are left smacking their lips by the end of it, every day! Top that with the love and care of the teachers who ensure that each child has had his or her fill. The cafeteria seats 500 heads at a time and is abuzz at lunch and snack hours.
It begins with milk in the early morning… Lunchtime is staggered in two-time slots of 25 minutes each. The sumptuous Vegetarian menu (only vegetarian) is mailed in advance for a fortnight and a copy can be kept handy for reference.
The menu is carefully planned to keep the children’s preferences in mind (no junk food is served and aerated drinks are not encouraged). In the afternoon, before children break for returning home, a sumptuous snack is served! The meal is tasted by the Vice Principal or the coordinators every day before it is served to the children to maintain the best standards. Food and water samples are tested by authorized Food Testing Labs every month. The reports of the tests are displayed in the dining area for everyone’s information. Children are advised to eat what is served on their platter and wastage of food is discouraged.
Safety and Security
The campus is under 24X7 CCTV surveillance and security guards. We have a tie-up with the best security companies; G4S Security Service India Private Limited and Kapston Facilities Management Limited. They are the leading global integrated security companies specializing in the provision of security products, services, and solutions. They have a strong team of security personnel who are thorough with the recognized security protocols and trained in emergency & disaster management techniques, to keep men and material out of harm’s way. All security guards’ backgrounds are verified.
We have solar electric fencing. Like a normal electric fence, a solar-powered electric fence uses solar power to charge the fence, which can be used to keep intruders and trespassers from gaining unauthorized access to the school campus. Our fire-fighting system is as per the stated norms of the government. Our support staff and security team have been made aware of the protocol to be followed in a fire emergency situation. Visitors are monitored and have distinguishing Visitors’ Passes for different businesses. Signing the register before entering is compulsory. At Suchitra Academy, we have left no stone unturned to make the campus safe and secure.
Suchitra Academy has a considerably large fleet of air-conditioned buses. We don’t just ensure the comfort of children, but also the total safety of children on board. Each bus has a GPS Tracker by which the location can be ascertained at any point of time and speed governors to negate rash driving. The teachers on the bus take up the role of a bus parent and oversee the student’s safety. There is a lady conductor in each bus for the added comfort and safety of the children. First Aid kit and water are other essentials. Students are given their designated places in the bus depending on their drop locations. Students are encouraged to be seated on the bus at all times for their own safety and the safety of others too!
