Learners of Stage 1 explored for the first time the genre of Non-Fiction by writing a report on their favourite animal. They learned about the features of information books and how it is different from the fun-to-read fiction books. Learners delved into the process of research and selected their favourite animal to write about and present their own animal reports. They covered relevant words like habitat, diet, real photographs of animals, glossary and various interesting facts about animals. Non-fiction text gives children a glimpse of how the world works and allows them to explore unfamiliar places, animals, cultures, and concepts.
