On August 12, 2023, the little champs of Grade V concluded the second PBL inquiry, ‘What does it take to make or break a shelter?’ with a well-researched presentation. Parents being enthusiastic, turned up in huge numbers, making it a HOUSEFULL event. The students explained to the parents about the appropriate materials used during the construction of the shelter based on the climatic conditions, availability of the material and disaster-prone areas. They also learnt about the basic building structure of a shelter such as -beams, columns, slabs, foundations, etc. Models of shelters based on disaster-prone areas and climatic conditions were made by our little innovators. Fun-filled activity based on the shelter was conducted for the parents. The presentation very well defined ‘Shelter as an expression of creativity and imagination.’
