Reading aloud is important for children as it builds their foundational skills, vocabulary, expressive reading and provides a model of fluent reading that helps children recognize what reading for pleasure is all about. The students of Grade I enjoyed listening to different stories this week. Teachers used various strategies like the See/Think/Wonder tool for details on the cover page, identifying the characters, recollecting the beginning, middle and end of the story, predicting the end of a story.
