Project-based learning orientation session for the parents of Grades II-III was conducted on 9th July 2022. Project-based learning (PBL) is a teaching method where inquiry questions based on NCERT topics are used as the vehicle to promote the learning of concepts as opposed to direct presentation of the definitions and facts. Along with the course content, PBL promotes 21st-century skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration and communication. ‘Why PBL?’ for Grades II-III, the 6 Cs – the attributes of a PBL learner, the need for PBL and the emphasis on a student-centric classroom were key takeaways from the session. A hands-on activity with an inquiry question allowed the parents to experience a PBL classroom. The session was a success with a great audience and their active participation.
