“Read aloud a book and enchant the students!’
Reading aloud is one of the most important activities that parents and teachers can do with children. Reading aloud builds many important foundational skills, introduces vocabulary, provides a model of fluent, expressive reading, and helps children recognize what reading for pleasure is all about. Research has shown that teachers who read aloud motivate students to take up independent reading by applying comprehension strategies. After the successful completion of the read aloud sessions, Grades IV and V celebrated the novels, Frindle and Wingless, which have many twists, turns and finally big surprises! Students thoroughly enjoyed reading the novels, which gave a good boost to their soaring flights of imagination. On 22nd August, 2022 the students were given an opportunity to demonstrate their presentational skills by enacting their favourite characters or a scene from the book and conducting a quiz. A novel reading program is definitely a wonderful experience creating fantastic memories!
