On Thursday, 1st December, for the Entry Point of the unit – “Blast off”, students of Sr.KG witnessed a spectacular take off to outer space through the Portable Planetarium. The experience of watching the solar system, millions of stars, the rockets and spaceships and many more concepts in a language closer to the child’s comprehension was amazing. The conception to help a child understand the planet earth, the size of the sun, the not so tiny stars, the existence of other planets, the distance to the moon, travel to space and rockets was not in mere words but through observation and visualization. Children were thrilled as they entered the dome, with sparkling eyes they watched every bit of the show. They carried their learning to the classroom, trying to recollect what they had seen and explain to teachers in their own words. What fun it was!
