Stage 4A
One windy afternoon, Sam took his bright red kite to the park. The sky was clear and
the wind was perfect. He ran across the grass, and the kite rose higher and higher.
But suddenly—WHOOSH!—a strong gust of wind pulled the kite from his hands. It flew
over the trees and disappeared!
Sam felt sad, but he didn’t give up. He searched behind bushes, around the playground,
and near the pond. Just when he was about to stop looking, he heard a voice.
“Is this your kite?” a little girl asked. She was holding Sam’s red kite with a big smile.
Sam’s eyes lit up. “Yes! Thank you so much!”
The girl handed it to him. “It got stuck in that tree. I climbed a little and pulled it down.”
Sam thanked her again. They spent the rest of the afternoon flying the kite together.
Sam realised that losing the kite wasn’t so bad—he found a new friend instead.
Moral of the Story: Never give up!
