Budding poets at Suchitra!

A poet is, before anything else, a person who is passionately in love with language.

-W. H. Auden

When it comes to creating our young Suchitrans are never behind. Saanvi of Grade IX-A is a poet in the making. Her poem was recently published in the international magazine(online) for children – Curious Times. The link to the poem is given below.

LITTLE DID IT KNOW

Let’s change our present to create a better future.

Hatched in a small crooked bush,

small and bijou little did it know,

the human world and its intent,

lived recklessly through the darkness.

All alone, tired and hungry, it foraged,

with hope and might, flew across the woodland,

neither agitated about death nor ending,

came across a fare.

Delighted and astonished it stood,

the tiny beast swallowed all,

but little did it know the ensuing.

Out bolted blood from its mouth,

and net all over its fuselage,

anxious and dejected and surprised it fell to the rutted grass,

never did she again trust the human world and its intent.

BRIGHT LITTLE LOTUS

The small lotus white blooms alone

In a shallow pond, upon which the moon shone  The leaves dance along the winds somber  To welcome the flower emitting a faint glow  Among whose radiance, the trees glow.

The faeries dance and bask in her light  Spreading the glee of the alit night

Creatures from hidden shadows gather  To shower their blessings on the born anew  Even the birds afar they flew.  The new lotus born shames the stars  As aglow it rose among the starling showers  The Bright little lotus has shown the world  That light ʻneath darkness in a spiral has twirled

Foe, family and friend, all dance around  The Little Lotus amidst despair found

FARM-TO-FORK – A GREAT LEARNER!

Pranav of Grade IV D learned about farm-to-fork in his PBL class last year.

Now, he got a chance to stay in his relatives’ cardamom estate in Kerala. He was fascinated by the whole process and went on to know more about it.

He then made a video on the end-to-end processing of cardamoms. He went to each and every unit of the cardamom processing to make this video.

He has made a 6-minute video and the same can be accessed at:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0YAFdJ9FsQ
