Stage 1 learners read and explored for the first time the genre of Fiction and Non-Fiction. They learned about an information book’s features and how it differs from fun-to-read fiction books v/s facts.
Learners learned this concept with a sorting activity wherein they sorted the books into two piles that are about the same or similar topics (e.g. books about animals, machines, people, fish and places) by looking and recognizing how texts of different purposes look different by directing their attention to the cover page and the book title.
