Stage 3 learners enjoyed the garden walk along with observing roots of plants of different sizes and shapes. Uprooting tiny plants helped them to feel the fixture of roots in the soil and also gave them an idea of why roots are important parts of the plant. They also observed the appearance of plants without roots and those with roots. Learners recorded their observations through diagrams following classroom discussion.
