On the 9th of June, NCFE conducted FETP for teachers of classes VI to X. After completion of this basic training comprising a session of two hours, teachers will be certified as “Money Smart Teacher”, and they would in turn facilitate conducting financial education classes in schools (MSSP) and encourage students to obtain basic financial skills.
The programme covered four topics.
1. Financial Literacy (Banking – Saving, borrowing and Transaction related products and services)
2. Investments – capital market and pension products and services
3. Insurance – Protection related products and services
4. Pension – Pension products and services. EPF, PPF and NPS
The Financial Education Trainer Ms. Jagadharani Sampathkumar who trained the teachers is an empanelled resource person of NCFE and NISM. She was former Executive Director at JP Morgan Chase and former Vice President at National Stock Exchange of India Ltd.
