On 26th June, students from Stages 5 and 8 took part in an enriching session that delved into the vast landscape of global languages. Titled “The Global Tapestry of Language,” the session explored the significance of the 7,100+ languages spoken worldwide and how major languages like English, Mandarin, Hindi, and Spanish drive global trade, diplomacy, science, and cultural exchange. Through real-world data and thought-provoking discussions, students examined how language shapes identity and fosters global understanding. The session concluded with a reflective worksheet, prompting learners to consider the role of language in their own lives and communities. It was an insightful experience that highlighted the power of linguistic diversity in connecting people across the world.
