Stage 1 learners learned the concept of Odd and Even numbers with the help of a hands-on activity using rajma. Two circles with chalk were drawn on each child’s table and a number from 0-20 was called out by the teacher. They did the sharing and pairing of the rajma into two circles and through this activity they came to know that numbers can be paired equally into the two circles. Such numbers are called even numbers and numbers such as 5 which cannot be shared equally into the two circles are called odd numbers.
