On 17th August 2023, our young mathematicians of Grade II explored the fundamental concept of addition with regrouping using a hands-on approach with straws. By using straws as visual aids, we aim to build a strong foundation for their understanding of addition and subtraction in regrouping, ensuring they grasp the concept with confidence. Straws are an excellent tool for introducing addition and subtraction to young minds. They provide a tangible and interactive way for students to comprehend abstract mathematical ideas. This approach not only enhances their understanding but also makes learning Math, an enjoyable experience. It also enables every child to feel confident about their mathematical abilities. They can see the process of addition unfolding right in front of them, eliminating any uncertainty.
