“Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and thought has found words.” – Robert Frost
Writing poetry is an exercise in patience, passion, and perseverance. As a part of their multiple assessment in English, Grade X students dabbled in this creative writing skill and churned out some fascinating verses on the topic of their choice in a new form of poetry called Black Out Poetry. Blackout poetry is an inviting way for students to experiment with poetry. In this form of poetry – pages from magazines, newspapers and old books are taken and certain parts are blacked out to reveal striking bits and pieces that make up unexpected poems. A few gems that shone brightly during this activity are Tanisha X A and Preksha X D.
