During the summer break, Ms. Shivani, Head of Cambridge, had the enriching opportunity to visit a prominent International Baccalaureate (IB) school in Norway, which offers the programme up to MYP 5. The school hosts a culturally diverse student body, including around 10% Indian students, and is deeply rooted in the IB philosophy of inquiry-based learning, reflection, and global citizenship—values that strongly align with the Cambridge approach as well. Classroom observations revealed a vibrant atmosphere of mutual respect, collaboration, and student agency, where learners take ownership of their education—true to the spirit of IB.
What resonated most was the powerful insight that students and educators worldwide share common aspirations. Across borders, learners crave encouragement, connection, and purpose, while teachers are united by their dedication to inspire and guide. The visit was a beautiful reminder that education transcends geography, creating familiar, nurturing spaces no matter where you are in the world. This experience highlighted the power of global educational practices and reinforced the need to cultivate internationally minded learners—young individuals who are adaptable, empathetic, and prepared to thrive in an interconnected world.
