On 9th November 2024, Stage 3 learners embarked on an exciting science journey to explore the concept of dissolving. Through a hands-on activity, they investigated how different substances interact with water, experimenting with materials like salt, sugar, sand, and flour. The session began with learners making predictions about which materials would dissolve in water. As they experimented, they observed the results, discovering whether the substances were “soluble” or “insoluble.” This engaging activity introduced key scientific vocabulary while encouraging critical thinking and real-world connections. The dynamic experiment sparked curiosity and excitement, turning a simple concept into an interactive and memorable learning experience. By the end of the session, the young scientists had gained a deeper understanding of dissolving and its everyday applications, leaving them inspired and eager to explore more of the natural world.
