The students of Grade II were enlightened with a ‘Fun with yoga’ session conducted by Ms. Alankrita Sinha on 9th July, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. Ms. Alankrita is a Program Manager in a tech startup in Mexico city, Mexico. Her passion outside work has always been ‘movement’, whether it is running, dancing, playing a sport or just going for a walk. Due to lockdown, she couldn’t go out for her fitness sessions and was introduced to yoga and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Thus, she decided to be a ‘Certified Yoga teacher’. She often takes up yoga sessions. The children learnt how their lungs function and the significance of healthy lungs through breathing exercises like Belly breathing, Bhramahri Pranayama and Sheetali. She also spoke about how children can kill boredom and enjoy fitness sessions at home by performing yoga, aerobic exercises, dance, skipping the rope and many more. It was a mesmerising session. The children now know to perform simple breathing exercises and improve their lung capacity which is much needed in the current scenario.
