Water is the universal solvent because it dissolves almost everything. On 7 January, 2022, students of Grade II tried out a few simple experiments using materials that were readily available at home to discover the properties of water. Using the Connect – Extend – Challenge thinking tool, students shared their observations from the experiments and concluded that water is tasteless, colourless and has no shape. Then students added salt, oil, solid objects in water and probed to understand that things either get dissolved, sink or float in water. They enjoyed doing the experiments to discover new information.
