“I learned this, at least, by my experiment; that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavours to live
the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” —Henry David Thoreau.
As a part of their GP project, the learners of Stage 6 prepared questionnaires and interviewed people within their family, community and globally to get information about their topic ‘why work?’ Through evaluation, they could explain the different types of employment that exist and the extent to which people are free to choose between them, they could identify the consequences of employment and work on people’s and a nation’s economic state and well-being and finally use the outcomes of their analysis to draw conclusions or make recommendations about future work and employment. What better way to use a showcase to present their findings? On 27th August 2022, they had their presentation where all that is cited above was showcased through artwork, poem, monologue, Power-point Presentation, role-play and skit. The presentation was a grand success and was enjoyed by parents, teachers and students alike.
