On 26th June, Cambridge buzzed with excitement as students from all stages came together for the vibrant Wordsmith English Lit Fest, showcasing their creativity, language skills, and unique ideas through a variety of engaging challenges.
Stage 1 – Word Dash: The CVC Puzzle Race
Students raced to build CVC words with puzzle pieces, strengthening phonics, letter recognition, and quick thinking.
Stage 2 – Grammar Sleuths: Solve the Language Crime
Young detectives identified and corrected grammar and spelling mistakes, sharpening their language mastery.
Stages 3 & 4 – Word the World: Social Message Poster + Slogan Writing Students designed impactful posters and slogans on global themes, blending art and language to share important messages.
Stages 5 to 7 – I am a Cambridge Learner!
Participants reflected on Cambridge Learner Attributes, narrating personal stories that demonstrated these qualities.
Stages 8 & 9 – Podcast Prodigy: Make Your Voice Heard!
Senior students pitched creative podcast concepts, thoughtfully planning themes, target audiences, and
formats.
