On 24th October, Grade VI students recently embarked on an exciting and engaging learning experience. To delve deeper into the world of materials, they set up an exploratory room filled with interactive stations. Each station focused on different material properties, allowing students to classify materials based on their characteristics.
Through hands-on exploration, students were able to:
• Classify materials: They sorted materials into categories like hard and soft, soluble and insoluble, conductors and insulators, magnetic and non-magnetic, and heavy and light.
• Conduct experiments: Students tested objects to determine if they floated or sank, which materials attracted magnets, and which could conduct electricity.
• Collaborate and learn: Working in teams, students shared ideas, discussed observations, and collectively drew conclusions.
This immersive learning experience not only reinforced classroom concepts but also sparked curiosity and critical thinking. By actively engaging with materials and conducting experiments, students gained a deeper understanding of the properties of matter and the scientific method.
