Read aloud sessions help children grow their vocabulary, introduce many words and concepts. Also, listeners are supported by the reader’s expression and fluency. On 23rd October, students of Grade II enjoyed listening to the story, “The Best Birthday Gift”. Teachers adopted various strategies, starting with details on the cover page using the See/Think/Wonder tool, identifying the characters, and predicting what may happen at the end of the story. It’s not about teaching the child to read. It’s about teaching the children to love to read.
