On 23rd January 2025, Grade I students embarked on an exciting math adventure, exploring numbers up to 100 through a fun, hands-on activity. Using straws and elastic bands, they learned the concept of grouping numbers into tens, building a strong foundation in place value.
The young learners enthusiastically created bundles of ten straws, practicing counting, organizing, and combining groups to reach 100. This interactive approach transformed abstract concepts into tangible learning, sparking curiosity and confidence in their mathematical abilities.
The classroom buzzed with excitement as students proudly counted aloud, displayed their “bundles of tens,” and shared their progress with classmates. This engaging activity not only made learning enjoyable but also encouraged collaboration and a deeper understanding of numbers. By turning math into a creative and interactive experience, the first graders are laying a solid foundation for future success in their mathematical journey.
