With the sparkling ‘diyas’ and the echoes of the chants, the amphi-theatre of Suchitra was filled with excitement, fun and festivity on 21st October as the students of Grade VIII A and VIII B presented their special assembly on the theme “Diwali – Ghar Ghar Ki”. The programme started with a welcome dance followed by glimpses of Diwali preparations at home and the story behind celebrating this auspicious festival. They emphasised the importance of family bonding, reunions and togetherness. They encouraged the audience to celebrate Diwali in an eco-friendly way. The programme culminated with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal as a mark of evading darkness from within us. Our students gifted hand-painted ‘diyas’ to their parents and teachers as a takeaway.
