On 19th June, Suchitra Academy embraced the spirit of National Reading Day with enthusiasm and purpose, joining CBSE schools across the country in honouring P.N. Panicker, the father of India’s Library Movement. As part of the CBSE Reading Mission, the day aimed to spark a lifelong love for reading and deep intellectual engagement. Senior Secondary students from Grades XI and XII stepped outside their classrooms during DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time to enjoy an open-air reading session beneath the tranquil green canopy of the campus. The natural setting provided a serene space for immersion in books, free from digital distractions.
Students engaged in quiet reading, lively discussions, and even shared insightful presentations about the books they were exploring—touching on themes, genres, author backgrounds, and personal reflections. This unique celebration turned reading into a shared experience of discovery and dialogue—reaffirming that books don’t just inform, they transform.
