As a part of the Inquiry ‘How do we know what we are eating, are we eating right?’ students of Grade IV were shown a short snippet from the movie The Global Junk Food on 19th August. Children were familiarised with the transition of the world into a ‘fast life’ and observed the Western culture seep into Indian society. Through a ‘Stock and Flow’ systems thinking tool children reflected on the reason behind the popularity of processed food joints such as Dominos, McDonalds, KFC, ect in India. Children explored it from different angles: development of Technology such as online food delivery websites like Swiggy and the captivating advertisements shown on the Televisions. The long term consequences of consuming such processed food was also discussed and collated on a Jamboard.
