Children have an inbuilt drive for discovery. On 19th August 2021, students of Grade I learned about the rainy season through a story, series of activities, and a simple experiment. The teacher creatively used Google Jamboard and the thinking hats tool to facilitate the discussion for all the things we use during this season. Students pondered and discussed how some things protect us from rain. To extend this understanding, they performed a simple experiment to discover which materials are waterproof and which aren’t. They concluded which materials are used in the making of umbrellas, raincoats, gumboots. Children learn best through hands-on activities.
