On 18th December 2024, Grade 9 students embarked on an enriching field trip to Loyola Academy to enhance their understanding of the chapter “Improvement in Food Resources” through real-world applications. The students explored sustainable agricultural practices such as modern sowing techniques, efficient irrigation systems, composting, intercropping, and greenhouse farming. They were particularly fascinated by the greenhouse section, where they observed how controlled environments support year-round farming while maintaining ecological balance. Additionally, the trip introduced them to advanced fields like biotechnology, genetics, and food technology. They learned how these innovations improve crop yields, tackle agricultural challenges, and enhance food quality. From pest control methods to genetic advancements, the experience offered hands-on learning and practical insights. The field trip left students inspired and curious, as they witnessed how science and technology address real-world agricultural issues. The day ended with lively discussions and a renewed appreciation for sustainable farming and modern innovations.
