Students of Grade IX created a buzz around Lake Venellagada. Pollution and the foul smell have become a new identity for this lake. As a part of SEWA, students of Grade IX have undertaken the ‘Clean Lake Venellagada Project’. On 18th August, Ms. Madhulika Choudhary, an activist for environment protection and lake restoration, conducted an interactive session and briefed the children on the importance and necessity of saving lakes. This session was followed by a peace march to the lake with posters and placards spreading awareness about lake pollution. Students cleaned the periphery of the lake enthusiastically. The plan doesn’t stop with cleaning the area but in the days to come we intend to take this up on a large scale with the support of the government authorities.
