On 16th June, 2026 Grade 6 students at Suchitra Academy participated in an engaging Problem-Based Learning (PBL) session led by Mr. Srinivasa Chary, the Food and Beverage Manager. The session focused on the theme, “Redesigning Our School Menu – Making It Nutritious, Affordable & Student-Friendly.” Mr. Chary shared valuable insights into the role of school meals in supporting students’ growth, energy, and learning. He explained the essentials of a balanced diet and discussed the challenges involved in menu planning, such as balancing taste with nutrition, managing budgets, addressing cultural preferences, reducing food wastage, and ensuring food safety. Students also learned about the importance of seasonal ingredients and special dietary requirements.
The interactive session encouraged students to think critically about nutrition, sustainability, and responsible food choices. The knowledge gained will support them in designing a thoughtful and practical school menu for their final PBL project.
