On June 13, 2024, the Stage 7 English exam tested students’ skills in creating short notes and writing clear 100-word summaries of a given text. The text, a story passage with both description and action, helped assess their ability to condense information while capturing the author’s voice. The focus was on finding key points and relevant details and organizing them well in both summaries and notes, with an emphasis on accuracy and getting straight to the point. After the test, students received feedback on their strengths and areas for growth, including spelling, vocabulary, staying on topic, and capturing their writing style. To help them improve, personalized learning plans were created. These plans were aimed at boosting note-taking and spelling skills (Level 1), expanding vocabulary and staying relevant (Level 2), and mastering the art of writing in a specific tone (Level 3).
