On 11th April, the Sparsh Department led a powerful life skills session for Stage 4 learners under the theme “Touch is Not Always Bad,” guiding students in recognizing the difference between safe and unsafe touch. The session emphasized that when touch is respectful, consensual, and caring, it can be a meaningful expression of comfort and emotional connection. During the thoughtful “Tree of Touch” activity, learners identified nurturing gestures—such as hugs and pats—as positive contributions to emotional well-being. They then collaborated to bring the “Tree of Kindness” to life, decorating it with handmade leaves filled with drawings and affirmations of kind and respectful behaviour. This creative and reflective session instilled the importance of compassion, trust, and boundaries. Like a tree nourished by care, children flourish in environments filled with love, respect, and emotional safety. The experience affirmed that feeling supported by safe, kind touch is not only acceptable—it’s a cornerstone of emotional growth and self-worth.
