On 10th February 2026, Grade V students took part in an engaging mathematics activity to understand the concept of the circumference of a circle. The session aimed to help learners measure the distance around a circle through a simple, practical approach.
Students used wool (thread) to trace the boundary of circular objects such as lids, plates, and containers. They wrapped the thread carefully, marked the length, and measured it with a ruler. This activity helped them realise that circumference is the total distance around a circle.
The experience strengthened conceptual understanding, enhanced measuring skills, and made mathematics both enjoyable and meaningful. Students participated with great curiosity and enthusiasm, proving that learning becomes truly effective when connected to real-life experiences.
