Novel Reading program enables students to make thoughtful interpretations by looking at the front and back cover. They will be able to read and interpret the character’s feelings and important parts of the story by writing it down as a summary. They will also be able to describe the setting of the story and its influence. The lesson helps students to raise interest in the topic/ character as the story proceeds. The students will be able to develop their speaking skills by sharing their ideas.

Amira:

Amira Learning is the world’s first intelligent reading assistant that provides personalized tutoring to students at school, after school, or at home. Students working with Amira experience significant improvements in their reading fluency. The student reads aloud to Amira and Amira uses speech recognition technology to listen to the student and identify their reading skill gaps.

When students struggle, Amira uses artificial intelligence to select from 60 micro-interventions built by reading scientists and designed to accelerate mastery of phonics, phonemic awareness, decoding, vocabulary, and comprehension.

• Amira then delivers immediate and individualized tutoring in the moment of struggle using the selected micro-intervention to help the student improve their reading ability.

In- house publication: Suchitra’s book launch!

24th June 2023, saw the grand launch of the two books created and published by Suchitra Academy – Empowering Me! – 1, English book for Grade I and the Practice book for Literacy and Numeracy for Pre-primary. These books are specially curated by our team to make it student-centric and meet the academic needs of the children. The cover pages of the books have been designed by our students.

Mindful walking And Zero wastage – A learning for life

We decided to take on the challenge of reducing food wastage to zero, implementing it as a pilot project for Grades and Stages I-IV. Initially, we found the task challenging, and at the outset, it seemed both daunting and complex. The idea of achieving zero food wastage in our school appeared monumental.

However, our students not only embraced the concept of zero waste but also took the lead in reducing food waste within our school premises. The impact of our zero waste pilot project has been tangible, fostering a sense of responsibility and sustainability among our students.

We introduced mindful walking for Grades and Stages I-IV students, and the results were significant. They started walking in pairs mindfully on the left side. This initiative has the potential to create a lasting positive impact on both individual students and the overall school community, fostering a culture of well-being and self-awareness.

The supportive state-of-the-art infrastructure

Suchitran Happy Footsteps is a pre-Diwali initiative Suchitrans from the age group nursery to Grade 12, wherein students, staff members and parents contribute footwear which is shared with different centres across Hyderabad city. Through this activity This initiative started in 2022 and has so far seen 2 successful consecutive drives; Suchitrans brought smiles to more than 1000 individuals thus establishing that Suchitrans share because we care.

Suchitran Page-Turners is another pan-school outreach programme wherein the school conducts a collection drive where materials like old notebooks, textbooks, storybooks, newspapers, and magazines are donated by parents and are weighed and are given to an external collection agency. With the proceeds of this drive developmental projects are undertaken in a Government School which the school has been closely lending support to. Embracing the value of ‘Suchitrans Share because we care,’ the school acknowledges contributions by providing small take-aways to students who donate. However, there is scope for enhancing waste segregation efficiency and implementing waste recycling initiatives like composting. Notably, the school ensures proper waste disposal at designated sites, refraining from the burning of waste.

Offering a safe and secure environment

Suchitra Academy strives to be the best school in terms of safety and security of students which is a top priority at our campus, where over 200 CCTV cameras are strategically placed and monitored by a dedicated surveillance team. Security guards are stationed at sensitive spots throughout the school, with a focus on employing female guards for enhanced safety. Our safe transportation facilities are equipped with GPS trackers and cameras, while trained personnel accompany students on buses to address any needs. Additionally, our POCSO committee promptly addresses student safety concerns and initiates disciplinary action when necessary, meeting regularly to assess and improve safety measures. Continuous awareness campaigns on safety, including cyber safety sessions conducted by experts, further reinforce our commitment to providing a secure environment for all students.

Safety is of paramount importance to us. Cameras, and safety equipment can do a lot when it comes to keeping our kids safe at school. However, school safety precautions go beyond the equipment. Educating the staff and students on how to identify and react during a potential threat is also a priority.

GPS Solution

A cloud based GPS tracking system with a latency (response time) of 0.05 second has been inducted in all the 35 school buses for real time tracking and Geo fencing of the buses to track deviations. Each bus is equipped with a mobile phone which is a real time tracker for the school transport department as well as parents to be in confidence of their ward’s security.

An ID Card entrance policy

The best school safety precaution is to end a threat before it can begin. Threats can be lessened and even eliminated at the door with an ID card entrance policy. This process secures the main entrance and creates a strategic step toward school safety.

Student ID Cards with a colour bifurcation of tags to differentiate between students availing school or own transport. The cards and tags allow security to have an enhanced vision of cross checking the movement of students.

Staff Icards, Visitor Icards, Vehicle pass are all issued keeping in mind the safety of students.

CCTV in Buses

CCTV cameras have been installed in all the buses in order to monitor the discipline in the buses while they are on the move. The cameras are all weather compatible with interactive voice command passing and live streaming facility as well.

The advanced integrated and automated inbuilt fire safety provision is a new induction to the fleet upgradation scheme for BSVI vehicles.
